EDUCATION SUPPORT: UNIFORMS PROVIDED TO POOR PUPILS

Full Details

As a good way to increase the morale of learners at the elementary levels and improved self-confidence, we yielded to a call from well-meaning indigenes who visited a school in the vicinity. And in times up till now, we have been able to provide clothing to about 5000 pupils and children.

The level of poverty in the nation and as informed by the TheCable Nigeria (2007) that National Poverty Line is less than a dollar per day, it is now very terrible task to survive for most homes. These schools where most pupils wear tattered dresses are government owed and are cheaper, yet most parents cannot afford it. We saw pupil going to school barefooted, torn uniforms, bad footwear.

Today, we have done this support to some sections of pupils are United Primary School, Ipara Remo and Local Government School, Ipara Remo. Our team distributed the first batch of uniforms to pupils at Local Government School, Ipara Remo on Friday 14th January 2022 in the presence and with the supervision of the instructors. And in another one week, on Monday 24th January 2022, our team distributed the first batch of the school uniforms directly to the pupils of the United Primary School, Ipara Remo.

A lot needs to be done in this regards. Some more pupils are yet to be supported with new uniforms, and we are planning to ensure that each pupil has at least two uniforms each, so that they can still another to wear to school when they wash dirty ones.

Equally, we have done a survey that helped to ascertained that these uniforms should be replaced every 3 years, by which time they would be old for replacement.

We welcome partnership and donations of clothing materials for casual wears also for these poor homes. We also support in that area.
