EDUCATION: STATUTORY CURRICULA TEXTBOOKS PROVISION FOR HIGH SCHOOL STUDENTS.

Full Details

On Tuesday November 9, 2022 our team handed over various recommended subject textbooks in the school curriculum of the various classes directly to students. It is very expensive for a lot of these students’ parents and guardians to provide these educational materials. In this society, most of these would provide private tuition to the wards if the financial capacities were available. Hence, they resolved to the government schools because it is free or almost free. However, they have been disappointed that education is not completely free and that is why most external supports like ours from Relief and Aid Foundation is major to compliment.
These textbooks are using for the students’ personal development, studies and preparation for external examinations beyond what their tutors will give.
On this project, some basic textbooks were provided to students of Ipara Community High School to support their learning. According to a teacher, most students do not have textbooks to treat home works given after a subject matter taken in class. She also added that some serious students learn ahead of the class, but these studies can only be enhanced with the available of relevant learning materials, like the subjects’ textbooks.
The subject textbooks provided include mathematics, agricultural science, chemistry, and other books for personal development.
We shall keep doing this to close more gaps and make learning pleasurable to these upcoming generation. As we do these services, we are doing our bits in support for a “Meaningful Life”.

The level of poverty in the nation and as informed by the TheCable Nigeria (2007) that National Poverty Line is less than a dollar per day, it is now very terrible task to survive for most homes. These schools where most pupils wear tattered dresses are government owed and are cheaper, yet most parents cannot afford it. We saw pupil going to school barefooted, torn uniforms, bad footwear.

Today, we have done this support to some sections of pupils are United Primary School, Ipara Remo and Local Government School, Ipara Remo. Our team distributed the first batch of uniforms to pupils at Local Government School, Ipara Remo on Friday 14th January 2022 in the presence and with the supervision of the instructors. And in another one week, on Monday 24th January 2022, our team distributed the first batch of the school uniforms directly to the pupils of the United Primary School, Ipara Remo.

A lot needs to be done in this regards. Some more pupils are yet to be supported with new uniforms, and we are planning to ensure that each pupil has at least two uniforms each, so that they can still another to wear to school when they wash dirty ones.

Equally, we have done a survey that helped to ascertained that these uniforms should be replaced every 3 years, by which time they would be old for replacement.

We welcome partnership and donations of clothing materials for casual wears also for these poor homes. We also support in that area.
